- Standard Sudoku rules (A & B - see below) apply
- The game can be played with Teams, Individuals, or a single person (Solitaire).
- The game can be played on a single iPad or two iPads.
- If two iPads are used, use AirDrop to make a Duplicate copy of the game on the second iPad.
- If you enter a correct number the color will be Blue.
- If you enter an incorrect number the color will be Red.
- If the number you enter is still Black, then Tap on “Next” or “Return” to enter the number. You can also Tap any empty space outside of the spreadsheet to enter the number.
- Use the Score Card to keep score. Enter the values from top left to right for each Team, Individual, or Solitaire.
- Enter Negative numbers in the Score Card for incorrect (Red) answers. Enter Positive numbers when you enter a correct (Blue) answer.
- If you enter an incorrect (Red) number, then delete the Red number in the puzzle and try again.
- Maximum points for every game equals 405 (45 x 9) which includes the starting Black numbers in the puzzle.
- This is a fun game, therefore you can guess if you are stumped and cannot figure out the next logical number. If your guess is incorrect (Red number) then enter a negative number on you Score Card.
- As shown in the SUbingDOKU Starter game, 4, 5, 7, 8 are possible correct answers for the first number you can enter. Finding the 8 will give you a higher final score if you are playing against others. The “3” in Row “19,” Column “F” is Red and therefore incorrect.
- As shown in the SUbingDOKU Starter game, you can pencil in optional numbers (e.g., 168 - 1, 6 or 8). These optional numbers will appear Purple above the final number. You can delete or modify them as needed. The puzzle will be easier to solve if you delete these optional numbers after you find the correct Blue number.
- For Team or Tournament play, alternate between Team A and Team B or Individual A and B.
- A time limit can be placed on each turn if desired. Use the iPad “Clock - Timer” feature. Pick a fun sound like “Time Passing”. Set the Timer to 1-minute, then “Start”. Go back to your SUbingDOKU game and when the allotted time has passed your turn is over.
